The driver
Michael B.
At 18 years old, he left drag racing and now back after 40 years...
Behind the Wheel
Michael Brooks has alway had drag racing on his mind but a family and owning a business kept his nose to the grindstone and racing had to take a back seat. After 4 long decades away, time is not on his side, so time to roll the dice.
His car, ACE'S WiLD, is named after his Belgian Malinois, Ace — a nod to the loyalty, speed, and intensity that defines both the dog and the driver. Ace's likeness is immortalized on the side of the car, riding shotgun on every run.
Brooks is preparing for a heavy 2027 season across regional and national circuits, He plans to hit the road and take a trek across the country documenting stops at Outlaw Tracks along the way with a docu-series, called Hell on Wheels. Each segement will feature interviews with the track owners and local race legends, with a final race ending each episode with the track champ.
Back into Drag Racing after 4 Decades
Back to the Track
Acquired a Demon 170 and hit the track. Didn't plan on it happening that way
Moved back to albany GA
Where his family had owned the US19 Dragway back in 1983-1990
Trying to get Wheels up under him
From Albany, Georgia, to Gainesville, Florida, and a few other tracks in between, the highly computerized Demon was nothing compared to the days of racing a 1970 Barracuda

The inspiration
Meet Ace
Every great driver has a co-pilot. Ace is a Belgian Malinois — fast, fearless, and fiercely loyal. He inspired the car's name, and his portrait rides on the door of ACE'S WiLD at every event. He doesn't ride in the car. But he's always there at the finish line.
